Another busy week for the Badgers

Another week has flown by!

This week, we have been exploring the story 'I like bees, I don't like honey!' by Sam Bishop. Following on from this, the children have discussed their own likes and dislikes. A great opportunity for the children to get to know each other, and find similarities with their friends.

In phonics, we have introduced the sounds ck, e, u and r, as well as our new tricky word of the week 'I'. The children are making great progress with their blending! Please continue to read with your child, and make note of this in their reading record, we appreciate the continued support.

This week in maths, we have been talking about measure. The children have been using the key vocabulary: big, small, short, long, heavy and light. I wonder if the Badgers can continue to use these words with objects at home. Can you find something heavier than a bag of crisps? Can you find an object that is longer than a pen?

Next Wednesday, 9th October, we will be welcoming the Badgers parents into school for our first stay and play session of the year! This is an opportunity to work and play alongside your child for an hour. Please arrive at 2pm at the main entrance and sign in at reception. Miss Corrigan will come down to collect all of our visitors and bring you down to the classroom. Our session will begin with 'Dough Disco'. You will then have some time with your child in the unit, before leaving at 3pm. You will be able to take your child with you when you leave. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Corrigan and Mrs. Chapman.
