We have had a lovely few days back at school and are enjoying our new theme of ‘Colours’ This week we have focussed on the colour Yellow and next week it will be the colour Blue. Our Nursery Rhyme which forms our foundations for phonics sessions has been Hickory Dickory Dock, and as usual this will continue through to the end of next week. This can be accessed on https://www.littlewandlelettersandsounds.org.uk/resources/for-parents/#tabnametabNurseryRhymesVideos
We will continue to send ‘reading for pleasure’ books home for you to read to your child, please do comment in the reading record when you have read them to your child and if they particularly liked any elements of the book (or not!)
We will continue to update you via Tapestry about what your child has been learning in school, you are always welcome to comment or like the posts that we post.
We have been doing lots of painting and sticking this week which lots of the children have really enjoyed. Outdoor art has featured heavily this week and the children have used natural resources such as sticks to paint with.
We currently have a competition running where children are encouraged to draw, colour or make a London Landmark to enter in to a whole school competition, this is something that children are welcome to enter (and can happily be supported by siblings or parents) It could be that they choose to colour a picture of a London Landmark or icon – think a red London bus, a Paddington Bear or the King’s Crown as an example. All entries will be displayed in the entrance hall until the exhibition on Monday 18th November.
