Weekly round up.

This week we started to learn about The Great Flood of Driffield 1910. We looked on a map at the streets mentioned and what happened there. Dogs in trees, sheep in bedrooms and muddy meat in the butchers, we also looked at some photographs taken at the time. So on Wednesday we will be walking around Driffield comparing the old photographs to now and hearing recounts from each area.

Phonics next week will be split diagraphs (magic e to everyone over a certain age!) . So children will learn that the e changes the vowel from its sound to its name ie pin - pine, hat- hate, not - note, cut - cute.

Fact families has certainly been a challenge especially when swapping the = sign to the front  10= 6+4  or 4= 10-6. Next week we tackle subtraction by crossing out through to using a number line.

As we edge closer towards December we will be informing you of who is who in the Nativity. We will be doing rehearsals in the church on Friday 6th & 13th - so wear something warm!

We hope you have a nice weekend and see you on Monday for another busy week!
