Thank you to all the adults who attended the Stay and Play session. It was great to see so many of you, and it is something the children really look forward to!
This week, the children thoroughly enjoyed playing in the snow making sure we were all wrapped up with our hats, scarfs and gloves! The children are becoming much more independent with zipping up their own coats, please can this be something you encourage your child to do at home.
In Phonics, our new sounds this week are: z, qu (queen, quick), and ch (chip, children, rich). The children enjoyed showing the adults their blending skills at the Stay and Play!
In Maths, the children have focused on 'one less' of numbers 1-5. We have used five frames and counters to physically take counters away to support understanding of this. We have used nursery rhymes including: 5 current buns in a baker's shop and 5 little speckled frogs to reinforce this. The picture above shows a group of children jumping their 'frogs' into the pool as we sang the rhyme!
We have continued learning and practising our Nativity songs! We are doing 'A Wriggly Nativity'. You can find all these songs on YouTube by typing 'A Wriggly Nativity' into the search bar; it would be great for the children to practise at home! Just ask if you require any help accessing this.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Corrigan and Mrs Chapman
