Badgers Class17 January 2025 (by schoollogin) |
The children loved their trip to the library! They all used the machine to check out a book of their choice. They will all have their own card, I look forward to hearing about the children's trips to the library in the future!
This week in Phonics, our new sounds are: oo (food, moon) , oo (book, look), ar (dark, park), and or (born, fork).
In Maths, we have finished our topic exploring 5,focusing this week on the composition of 5. I wonder if your child can tell you which 2 numbers make 5?
Towards the end of the week, the children have started to explore mass and capacity. We have been using bucket balances to identify heavy and light objects. We will continue this topic into next week.
On Wednesday, we looked at pictures of the seaside both past and present. We explored the similarities and differences between a selection of photos, looking at what has changed and what traditions still happen today. The children were pleased that ice creams remain a solid seaside tradition!
Over the next four weeks, we will continue our topic of 'Under the Sea'. In the final week of half term, Badgers and Hedgehogs will be visiting The Deep in Hull. Leading up to our trip, we will be learning fun facts about all the sea animals we will see on our trip. If you have any facts about any wonderful sea creatures, feel free to send them in to share with the rest of the class.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Corrigan and Mrs Chapman.
