Bumblebee Class

28 February 2025 (by schoollogin)

We have had a lovely first week back, and I am delighted to share that we have managed to fit in so much already! The children have thoroughly enjoyed playing in the KS1 playground, particularly during our weekly PE lesson. As a gentle reminder, please ensure that your child comes in their PE kit on Thursdays, including wearing trainers.
The children have been having a fantastic time exploring the EYFS play area, which includes the mud kitchen, climbing frame, and slides. It’s wonderful to see them engage in such creative and physical play so confidently.
This week, we completed our focus on the colour 'white', and  next week we will begin our exploration of shapes. We will be looking at one shape each week, and to kick things off, our first shape will be circle. The children will have the opportunity to be supported in identifying circles within their environment.
We have also enjoyed our phonic sessions, especially our  Nursery Rhyme  “1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive.” Having completed two weeks with this song, we are now ready to introduce “Mary Mary Quite Contrary.” The children will, as usual come home with a paper copy of the song and you are able to access it online via https://www.littlewandlelettersandsounds.org.uk/resources/for-parents/#tabnametabNurseryRhymesVideos
It is really beneficial if your child is exposed to the songs at home regularly.
Starting next week, we will be implementing our themed days for focused activities, which will add an exciting twist to our learning. Here’s what to expect:
  • Messy Monday
  • Talking Tuesday
  • Wellbeing Wednesday
  • Think it Thursday
  • Food Friday
These themed days will encourage creativity, communication, and wellbeing, creating memorable learning experiences for the children.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Sensory Session at the Methodist Church and are planning further dates for similar activities. It’s always beneficial for the children to experience different environments and engage in varied sensory experiences and Katie the Family Support Worker makes us feel very welcome.
Just a reminder to those of you who have not sent in your family information for the photo books it would be really helpful if you could do so as soon as possible please so that we can start using them within the classroom.
Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.
