Driffield Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Infant School

Thank you to everyone who attended the Parent Consultation meetings this week, it was lovely discussing each child's progress.

This week, we have extended our Science Week celebrations and the children had a special visit from lots of exotic animals! 
The children had the opportunity to hold a variety of animals including an owl, a python, a lizard, a sphynx cat! What an exciting end to the week. 

The children have enjoyed exploring the natural world by taking a walk around the school ground searching for signs of spring including daffodils, flower buds, birds and insects and blossom. 

This week, our story has been Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy! The children have taken great interest in this series of books, very engaged! 

In Phonics, we have continued to revise our Phase 3 sounds and applying these sounds into longer words ending in -ing. For example marching, looking etc. 

In Maths, we have continued to work on our number bonds to 10 and looking at our doubles to 5.
Next Wednesday, we invite parents and carers into school for our Marvellous Maths Stay and Play session at 2pm. Please arrive at the main office just before 2pm.

We will also be visiting Driffield Fire Station next Wednesday morning as part of our Around our Town topic.
