What a busy week! Thank you to the parents who attended our 'Marvellous Maths' Stay and Play session! The children love to have their adults in school.
On Wednesday, we had the most amazing trip to Driffield Fire Station! On our walk to the station, we pointed out lots of features along the way. The children learned lots about fire safety and the role of a firefighter. We watched a fireman come down the pole and put on their uniform including their fire helmets, the children each got to have a seat in a fire engine, and last but not least the children LOVED having a turn squirting water with the hose! A brilliant day had by all, Miss Corrigan was so proud of how enthusiastic the children were, with great manners and good understanding of fire safety in the home.
In Phonics, we have continued applying our Phase 3 sounds into new words, including longer words and words ending in 's' and 'es'. For example, cheeps, boxes, fishes. We will be assessing the children next week on Phase 3 sounds and words including some tricky words.
Next week, our main focus is celebrating Easter. We will be telling the Easter Story, learn about Easter traditions including having a taste of hot cross buns, yum! On Wednesday morning, children will visit the church for our Easter Experience- there will be six stations inside the church for the children to work their way around- each station telling a different section of the Easter Story. We will also be visiting church on Friday for our end of term celebration worship.
The children will break up next Friday (4th), and return back to school on Tuesday 22nd April.
One week to go!
Thank you for your ongoing support, any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
