Admissions Consultation
Consultation to change the Published Admission Number (PAN) for Driffield CE VC Infant School
-
Having considered the forecasts for projected pupil numbers and considering the wider context of falling birth rates locally and nationally.
-
The school is seeing a fall in demand which is linked to a decline in the birth rate and pupil projection information demonstrates a clear decline in pupil numbers.
-
The decrease in future demand is predicted to be lower in future years than at present, resulting in a growing surplus of school places.
-
The school are currently running 6 classes across Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 with 2 classes for each year group, and this proposed number will not require an alteration in the number of classes.
-
The physical accommodation and built capacity of the school will not be reduced in such a way as to make the decrease irreversible in future years. All spaces that can be used as classrooms and teaching spaces will be used alternatively when not required as classrooms, but all shall be retained as potential future classrooms for the future needs of children.
